Lawrence, Kan.—A full-scale emergency exercise will take place in Lawrence Thursday, June 18.  Participating agencies include Douglas County Emergency Management, Kansas University Public Safety, Lawrence-Douglas County Fire Medical, Lawrence Memorial Hospital, Lawrence Police Department, Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, Kansas Highway Patrol, Douglas County Emergency Communications Center, Bert Nash Community Mental Health Center and Lawrence-Douglas County Health Department.  

Schedule for 2015 Summer Food Service Program, a program offering free meals to all youth between the ages of 1-18. An adult must accompany anyone under the age of 4 years old. Adults can purchase lunch for $3.45 and breakfast for $2.15. Meals are served Monday - Friday.

The Douglas County Public Works Department announces that beginning Thursday, March 26, 2015, E 1750 Road between N 400 Road (Route 12; State Lake Road) and N 500 Road will be closed to through traffic.  The closure is temporary, and will remain in place while Route 1055 is closed to through traffic between N 400 Road and N 500 Road for construction work.

 

Residents along E 1750 Road will be able to access their properties from N 400 Road only.  There will be no traffic allowed on E 1750 Road between N 500 Road and ¼-mile south of N 500 Road.
