Greetings from Douglas County Register of Deeds

The Douglas County Register of Deeds office will be going to a new recording system.  Pioneer Technology Group is our new provider and Landmark is the application.

 

Remote users may join sessions to train for the Landmark product with the Staff of Pioneer Technology Group November 17th and 18th.

Training sessions will be as follows:

The County Commission will meet at 4:00 p.m. and at 6:00 p.m on November 9, 2016. Please see full agenda on out website for the 4 p.m. meeting.

The County Commission will not meet Wednesday, October 26, 2016.

Douglas County Courthouse elevator is planned to be out of service Wednesday, October 19, 2016 through Monday, October 24, 2016.  The first, second and third floors of the Douglas County Courthouse, at 1100 Massachusetts St. in Lawrence, will not be accessible by elevator during that time period.  All services will be available for citizens with disabilities on the lower level from October 19th through the 24th.  The project is planned to be completed by Tuesday, October 25th. 

Understanding how to receive severe weather alerts and the appropriate steps to take when those alerts are received is an important part of being prepared. Emergency Management recommends using more than 1 method to receive severe weather alerts. Below are several ways to receive weather alerts.

How we get food matters to everyone in our community. We want to hear from Douglas County residents about their experiences and thoughts around food and farming. From the farmer to the school gardener, the food pantry shelf to the grocery shelf, we all have an important role in our local food system. 

October is National Cyber Security Awareness Month which is an annual campaign to raise awareness about cybersecurity. We live in a world that is more connected than ever before. The Internet touches almost all aspects of everyone’s daily life, whether we realize it or not.
