Recognizing September 2017 as “Recovery Month”

 

WHEREAS, mental and substance use disorders affect all communities nationwide, but with commitment and support, people with these disorders can achieve healthy lifestyles and lead rewarding lives in recovery; and

WHEREAS, by seeking help, people who experience mental and/or substance use disorders can embark on a new path toward improved health and overall wellness; and

To Honor EARL NEHRING

WHEREAS, Friends and colleagues would like to take this opportunity to recognize Earl Nehring for his volunteer work and leadership services to Douglas County, Kansas; and

WHEREAS, Earl was raised in Montana, but met his wife Harriet in Pasadena, CA while in the military during World War II. He moved to Lawrence and raised two children here. Earl continues to live in and contribute in many ways to the vibrancy of this community; and

Consultant Susan Ford will present findings from the recent historic building survey in Willow Springs Township.

The County Commission meeting for Wednesday, September 6 has been canceled.
