Drop-Off Recycling Bins

The County offers convenient recycling drop off bins to help our residents recycle.

Use of drop-off locations are intended for Douglas County households only 

Douglas County offers drop-off recycling bins in the unincorporated areas of the County for Douglas County residents. The sites are serviced on Tuesday and Thursday of each week. The four locations in the unincorporated area are:

  • Prairie Moon Waldorf School (1853 E 1600 Rd)
  • Stull United Methodist Church (1596 E 250 Rd)
  • Vinland (1704 N 700 Road) - the new Vinland drop-off recycling site  is now open for residents who live in the unincorporated areas of Douglas County. Our service provider will pick up recycling on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
  • Wakarusa Valley School (1104 E 1000 Rd) 

At each of the locations, there are containers for mixed materials (all glass, plastic, paper, cans, etc.) and containers for cardboard only. 

The drop-off recycling bins are available for Douglas County residents. Businesses can contact Honey Creek for comercial recycling services. 

The following materials can be placed in the drop off bins located around the County:

  • Plastic bottles
  • Dairy containers
  • Yogurt cups
  • Deli or salad bar clamshells

PAPER & CARDBOARD:

  • Newspaper
  • Office paper
  • Envelopes
  • Junk mail
  • Magazines
  • Catalogs
  • Telephone books
  • Cardboard
  • Chipboard
  • Milk/Juice cartons

CANS:

  • Aluminum cans
  • Steel (tin) food and beverage cans

GLASS:

  • Glass bottles and jars
