Beginning Wednesday morning, April 11, 2018, pavement rehabilitation work will commence on Route 1023 (N 851 Diag Road) from N 950 Road to the Route 1023/Route 458/Route 6 intersection. The pavement will be milled and patched prior to receiving an overlay of new asphalt pavement. One lane of traffic will be open through construction, and will be controlled by flaggers. The rehabilitation work for this road segment is anticipated to take two weeks duration, weather permitting.
This work is part of a contract let in 2017 to Bettis Asphalt for pavement rehabilitation on three road segments totaling approximately ten miles in length. Two of the road segments, including the above section of Route 1023, were not able to be completed in 2017. The third road segment, Route 458 from E 1600 Road to E 1800 Road, will be completed later this year.
This pavement rehabilitation project is funded by Douglas County’s Road & Bridge Fund and the Capital Improvement Program (CIP). The Board of County Commissioners awarded the construction contract to Bettis Asphalt, who submitted the low bid of $1,322,658.49.
