DA Branson Announces Launch of Restorative Justice Program

Monday, July 13, 2020 - 9:47am

District Attorney Charles Branson is pleased to announce the upcoming launch of a new restorative justice program in Douglas County.  The Douglas County District Attorney’s Office has partnered with the Kansas Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution (KIPCOR) to develop a restorative justice program aimed at justice reform for juvenile offenders. Restorative Justice relies on community partners to participate in repairing the harm caused by an individual while at the same time identifying services necessary to prevent and cease future criminal behavior on the part of that same individual.

In Douglas County, the Restorative Justice Program will bring together victims, juvenile offenders, and community members to participate in a resolution by emphasizing accountability and making amends. We are inviting community partners to join us July 30, 2020 for the informational launch of this new and exciting opportunity for justice reform in Douglas County. More information regarding the launch of this program will be announced in the coming weeks. To participate or learn more contact us at
