District Court Clerk’s Office closed due to recent flooding

Tuesday, August 20, 2019 - 12:23pm

The Douglas County District Court Clerk’s Office is closed due recent flooding and current cleanup efforts.

Residents who need to make a cash or check payment can go to the Court Trustee’s Office located on the main level of Judicial and Law Enforcement Center. Unfortunately, the Clerk’s Office cannot take credit payments during this time. If residents need to file a document in their court case, they can do so by visiting the Court Trustee’s Office.

The Clerk’s Office is taking Protection from Abuse and Protection from Stalking petitions, and residents can file those petitions at the Court Trustee’s Office. For those who want to apply for a marriage license, please visit the Court Trustee’s Office.

Please be aware that court records requests may take longer than the usual 1-3 day waiting period. Computer terminals in the Clerk’s lobby are not accessible at this time.

If residents would like to talk to someone in the Clerk’s Office and it is an emergency, please call Rose at 785-832-5252.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation.
