House Arrest
Our Mission...
Is to keep individuals out of custody and living within the community while providing accountability and safety for all.
Our goals are to:
* Improve the ability of program participants to live productively and responsibly in our community
* Promote public safety.
* Provide quality services to Douglas County citizens.
Douglas County House Arrest was created to keep court approved individuals serving a sentence out of custody and living within the community while considering public safety and providing accountability. The program is monitored 24 hours a day, seven days per week by Douglas County Criminal Justice Services. House arrest provides an alternative in lieu of placement at the Douglas County Jail. The program helps to defer incarceration cost and allows individuals to remain in the home, thus maintaining employment, schooling and family obligations. The current program has been in operation since October of 2017.
Monitoring must be ordered by the Court, and may include electronic monitoring by one or more of the following: Global Positioning System (GPS), which monitors movements in real time; Remote Breathalyzer, which is a portable device to monitor alcohol usage; or, Transdermal Alcohol Detector (TAD), which monitors alcohol usage continuously over a period of time. All services with Douglas County House Arrest are offered at no cost to the client.
